The University of Illinois at Springfield is hoping to help learners determine if they are good candidates for online learning. To help prospective online students assess their readiness for online learning they have posted a questionnaire borrowed from Penn State with a set of key questions.
The survey is followed by a set of four questions based on the framework by Knowles to allow prospective students to determine if they are self-directed learners. As we become more sophisticated in considering the appropriate use of distance learning, it is great to see student characteristics explicitly considered.
