Directions
Cook ground beef, sausage (with casings removed), onion, and garlic until well browned.
Stir in tomato puree, tomate paste, and tomato sauce.
Add sugar, basil, fennel seeds, Italian seasoning, and parsley.
Cover and simmer for 1 and 1/2 hours.
Quarter olives and add them to the sauce during the last half hour.
Cook lasagna noodles in a large pot of boiling water for 8 minutes. Dr
Drain noodles, rinse in cold water, and leave in the water until needed.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Combine ricotta cheese and egg.
Layer ingredients in 9 x 13 inch glass baking dish – starting at the bottom:
1 1/2 Cups Meat Sauce
6 Lasagna Noodles
Half of ricotta/egg mixture
1/4 Cup Parmesan Cheese
1/3 Mozzarella Cheese
1 1/2 Cups Meat Sauce
6 Lasagna Noodles
Half of ricotta/egg mixture
1/4 Cup Parmesan Cheese
1/3 Mozzarella Cheese
1 1/2 Cups Meet Sauce
1/3 Mozzarella Cheese
1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese
Cover with foil, using cooking spray to prevent sticking to the cheese. Bake in preheated over for 25 minutes.
Remove foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes.
Cool for 15 minutes before serving.
