In an article in Technology Review, Tate Ryan-Mosley provides an update on the effort in the Massachusetts legislature to regulate the use of facial recognition technology for law enforcement. Although the fate of legislation to govern such use is uncertain, the piece discusses a variety of approaches that have been proposed at various levels of government in the U.S. and beyond.
