LL Fall 2021 Background Research

Research programs begin in various ways. Sometimes there is a particular interest or question that initiates the inquiry. At other times the program picks up a line of work developed earlier with a goal of extending it and developing it further. In just about all cases it is useful to survey prior research. This background research helps to avoid repetition of prior work and while identifying next steps that might be taken.
