Valentine’s Day Cookies

Ingredients

Cookie Dough
1 cup butter at room temperature
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking soda
3 cups all purpose flour
Buttercream Frosting
4 cups powdered sugar (1 pound)
1 cup butter at room temperature
3 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp milk
food coloring (red, pink)

Directions

Bake Cookies

Cream softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add egg and vanilla and mix thoroughly.

Add baking power and mix thoroughly.

Add in flour, one cup at a time and mix until combined.

Roll out cough dough until it is 5/8 inches thick.

Use a cookie cutter to create heart shaped cookies.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 6 minutes just until the edges are slightly golden.

Remove from over and allow to cool completely.

Prepare Frosting

Mix softened butter and vanilla until completely combined.

Add powdered sugar and beat on low until it is completely mixed, and then increase speed.

Add milk a small amount at a time until the frosting flows smoothly.

Add food coloring to create batches of white, pink, and red frosting.

Frost the Cookies

Use the three colors of frosting to decorate the cookies according to your taste.
