Writing in Arch Daily, Katie Overstreet highlights the emerging need for physical spaces with the capacity to support a new generation of digital spaces and experiences. These spaces will be used to help individuals make the transition from physical to digital spaces and back. Although this seem like an inherently educational purpose, as Overstreet notes, much of the energy around the development of such physical spaces seems focused on commercial uses. The one early exception seems to be museums that are exploring digital exhibits and environments. What might it take to generate interest in and resources for a broader effort to develop spaces that can become part of a new learning infrastructure?
