The Virginia Department of Education has launched a new platform that allows teachers to access open educational resources and to submit resources they have developed themselves and would like to share. At launch the site already has over 10,000 resources from national open educational resource (OER) contributors.
The resources include curriculum materials, a variety of units, lessons, and related activities. Contributions have already been posted by organizations and institutions such as museums throughout the state, and expectations are that the resources will become deeper and richer as teachers make contributions.
The site is online at https://goopenva.org/ From the homepage users can access instructions for using the site and an open authoring tool to support their contributions. Is this the future of online learning for teachers?
