Welcome to Network-Bulletin Board!
Network-Bulletin Board is an online networking platform. Our mission is to provide TC’s current students with exceptional networking experiences. It is primarily used for networking and career development through exchanging information with each other, allowing TC students get communication opportunities with the alumni who are working in those dream organizations (the organizations/institutions/companies that many TC students hope to join)
There are internal recruitment resources/ employment opportunities available disclosed by TC cooperated companies for current TC students. In the section “Organizations TC alumni work in”, we demonstrate several elite organizations where there are a measurable number of TC alumni as employees. Users of our website can click into the organization tabs and discover alumni’s interchange of information and records of experience while at work, giving students’ a first-hand reflection about what it is like to be working in their organizations.
Besides, TC alumni can organize meetings and workshops to share valuable career related information to current students via zoom, and current students can see these upcoming events in the Networking News section in this platform. Furthermore, famous and impressive TC alumni can tell their personal experiences and stories by video recording and then post into the People’s Stories section in this platform. Stories about winning can inspire current students and allows current students to know how to improve themselves.
Each TC student and alumni can log in using their TC NetID and start a unique, wonderful journey here!
- Step 1: Login using your TC NetID and password. We recommend you to choose “Keep Logged In” to better keep track of your networking progress.
- Step 2: The home page displays a number of NGOs and NPOs that are most commonly followed by TC students. Below the name of each institution, you could see how many TC alumni are currently working there.
- Step 3: Choose your dream institution and click into it.
- Step 4: All the TC alumni working there are shown to you. The display information includes their graduation year, current job title, and the office location (city scope).
- Step 5: You can then choose the alumni you wish to network with. After choosing, click the button named “Connect” under his/her profile. The system will automatically send him/her a board message telling that a TC student wishes to network with him/her, and there will pop up a question “Do you wish to respond to this student?” with two boxes “Yes” and “No” That board message will also be sent to his/her mobile phone as a text message with a link to the board.
- Step 6: If the alumni you chose is interested in giving you a response, he/she can click “Yes”. Then you will be prompted to a time slot selection page to select the time slot that works for you to have a brief talk. The board will deliver your chosen time slots to the alumni, and he/she can further confirm the time or schedule a different time.

Connectivism theory emphasizes the acquisition of knowledge and information through diverse opinions, which includes recognizing nodes and edges in the social network which are distinct and important. Connectivism learning theory explores the connection between relationships, knowledge, and environment to play a role in comprehensively covering knowledge and information. People obtain opportunities to make decisions about their learning through connectivism learning theory. One major goal of using the immersive and interactive learning environment is the “matching” process: we identify our needs, search/look for the ones that could provide us with the resources we need, get connected with them, and fulfill our needs.
Meanwhile, connectivism is also constructed upon the foundation of emergence and chaos, through which predictability and order are no longer significant. Without a centralized arrangement and unified understanding of what is the best option in employment, each individual should strive to figure out their path with the best amount of information they can acquire. We desire to provide such an information platform and initiative for our product users and prompt them to discover opportunities in the unknown territory of the human resource market and develop their own pattern of job seeking and personal connections.
For our Project 3, we are designing a Network-Bulletin Board via Latrab to offer a platform for TC current students to contact TC alumni efficiently. In this information exchange process, TC current students have the opportunity to make choices about whom they (Alumni) would like to talk to. Also, in this process, students would be able to interact with each other and have a chance to exchange different viewpoints and perspectives about future careers or even information about job opportunities. TC’s current students should have the ability to distinguish the efficient information by themselves.

A question I have is what would the TC alumni gain by being part of the network? How do you suggest to keep them engaged by giving up their time to help out future students?
I love the idea of networking and connecting current/former TC students with one another to open up career opportunities. I would love to hear more about how this is different or perhaps even more advantageous than say a private Facebook or LinkedIn group for TC Students and Alumni? I already feel overwhelmed by the amount of social media / various platforms out there that adding another one doesn’t sound appealing when existing ones could potentially already do the job.
This is a great idea. Career development is an issue that every student will face nowadays, and this product, combined with TC’s existing resources, serves students well. It feels like an effective complement and improvement to TC Next.
love the idea, especially for students who find it difficult to reach out to professional workers! I strongly believe the internal connection inside TC could be very efficient and effective for both parties.
