YouTube has announced a new feature, Educational Playlists, that will present curated learning resources on topics of general interest. YouTube is investing $20 million to line up educational content providers for this initiative. In an interesting twist for Google owned YouTube, the Educational Playlists will feature curated lists rather than resources recommended via algorithms to avoid nasty and distracting surprises.
It will be interesting to watch this program develop and see how the curated resources are received and used.
