Google has released a final version of Dataset Search, which first appeared in beta in September 2018. TechCrunch reports that the search allows users to examine over 25 million datasets of varying sizes and subjects. Also included are details on the organizations sponsoring the datasets.

In addition to dataset search being useful to researchers looking for data, it is also easy for scholars to make their own datasets available in the search by using standard schema markup. This could be a convenient way for researchers to find existing datasets to test out new ideas.
